So I haven't written in here in ages, and some might think I've washed out. Fortunately, I just became too busy to warrant writing in a blog anymore. I am now in Phase III flying T-1s, still at CAFB. Here is a quick recap of my life since September. If anyone has any questions, I will be glad to answer.
Finishing out T-6's, I finished out formation and then instruments. I didn't do so well on my form check, but I did decently on my instruments check. I tracked T-1's, and am now I am finishing up the transition phase of training. Next week I will check, and then progress into the nav phase.
Though I have been inactive on this blog, I do have a new website to assist in flight planning: www.t1weather.com

Wilhelm Kempff plays Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata mvt. 1
I think this captures my state of mind fairly well... enjoy!
Life goes on...
I haven't written in a long time, so I figured I'd write tonight to let everyone know that at the very least, I'm still alive.
There really isn't much to say- I've been flying formation for the past week, and this week I'm due to fly solo (in formation). Training is dragging by- I think I'm ready for a new airplane. Nothing really interesting, other than the standard formation flying, has happened so that is why I haven't written much.
I'll post a video for everyone's entertainment in the meantime...
Night!

I-Sim, Hurricane
This morning, first thing, I had an instrument sim- it went less than well. I performed much better yesterday, in fact it felt as if I had regressed about a week in my instruments proficiency. Oh well. Immediately following my sim, I had an formation ride scheduled. We got all of the ground ops finished in a less than timely manner (partially because the plane was having issues, and partially b/c I was being slow/deliberate). Anyway, we taxied out to the hold short line, and we were told our MOAs were closed. If you were to look at a radar image at the time, this is about what you would see:
If you don't know where Columbus is, it is just about on the Alabama Mississippi border, about 3/4 N up the border. On taxi back we performed a 180 in front of a T-1- that was interesting. Otherwise, we took an EPQ and that was about it.
Needless to say, not much flying is happening at the moment. I'm still waiting to figure out what is going on tomorrow.

Celebrate! A weekday post!
Flying this week has been hectic, but mostly fun. This is because formation is fun; flying 10 feet away from another airplane going 200 knots is wild. Here is a video link that gives you an idea of what I'm doing now (except these guys are flying further apart in their form than we do): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dv9OaU2FR80. Instruments on the other hand, are not so much fun but are easier to grasp. By this I mean I know exactly what I need to do, and it is just a matter of doing so. I'm not performing as well as I'd like in instruments, but at least I know what I need to do to do well. Formation is fun, but is a lot of feel.
Anyway, this is my brief ramble for the day. My X-country was pushed back to the middle of October. Phase II is almost finished- woohoo!
I had two sims today, and tomorrow I have an I-sim and a form flight. To bed I now go.
